Some of you have been hearing me talk about this for a while now, and it’s finally complete. The first edition of the Informationist Institutional quarterly macro research letter.
This first letter is free for everyone and meant to be shared.
As you will see, the letter is written specifically for serious investors and advisors who are looking for a deeper, more thoughtful set of articles that reach into history to help inform us what’s going on in the macroeconomic world today.
A key piece of each quarterly newsletter is the Debasement Pressure Index (DPI). This is a proprietary measure developed by The Informationist that tells us how hard the United States is being pushed toward debasing its currency to help manage its debt. This is the most powerful force driving the price of assets in the world.
The full explanation and components are included in the center fold of the letter, along with other key measures and charts to help you make your own decisions for your overall portfolio and investment decisions, considering the current macroeconomic landscape.
However you want to read this one, it’s up to you. That said, I would imagine myself printing this out, pouring a big mug of coffee on Sunday morning or a few fingers of whiskey in the evening, and settling in to indulge for a while. This is meant to be taken in slowly and enjoyed thoroughly, something of a lost art these days.

Your Debasement Pressure Index explains so much. Great work!
I'm on page 3 of this newsletter and three times you write "the price went up " when it reads that the yield went up, which of course would mean the price went down. One example is the heading on the graphic at the top of page 3. Is there something in the mechanics of gilts that I don't understand?
